Today's freebie giveaway is this beautiful Ankh necklace!
I got a couple of these to give out as freebies at the RWA National conference in honor of the release of STOLEN HEAT. Obviously, I didn't get to do that since I didn't end up going to Washington DC, so I'm giving them away now. Yesterday I gave one away on Lauren Dane's blog (What? You missed it? oh...too bad. But now you get a second chance!) People seemed to love the pendant so I thought I'd give the other one away here today.
For those of you who don't know...the Ankh is a hieroglyphic from Ancient Egypt. The origin isn't entirely understood, but archaeologists believe it represents eternal life. The Ankh has also been called the key of life, the key of the Nile, or the crux ansata, Latin for “cross with a handle”. Whatever you call it, this necklace is a real beauty.
To be entered into the drawing for the Ankh necklace, simply answer this question:
Is there one piece of jewelry you never take off? What is it and why?

never take off my wedding ring. ever.
I'm with Karin. The wedding ring is a permanent fixture. Why? Because I'm still in love with my dh. HEA does happen. *G*
That's a gorgeous necklace. And I like the history behind the design.
Like Karin and Pat, I've never ever taken off my wedding ring. It's been on my finger for nearly 17 years. The idea of taking it off just feels wrong, like as soon as it came off something bad would happen. I know that sounds weird, but it's just how my wee brain works. :)
BTW, really hope you get to come to RWA National next year. I'm really looking forward to it since it's right down the road.
My husband gave me a necklace as a wedding gift...even though we decided not to do gifts. It is just a small chain with a sapphire stone...which is September birth stone. Not either birtday, but the month we got married. I have only ever taken it off when I have been in the hospital...and it is required for me to take it off. We are coming up on 12 years! Unfortunately I have to take my rings off every night because my fingers swell to little sausages :)
I'm with everyone else -- I don't take off my wedding band, a one of a kind cast of tiny little plumeria blossoms. We found it umpteen years ago in a little jewelry shop in Sausalito. Years later, he had an engagement ring cast off the band and put opals on it. My finger swelled during pregnancy, I took off the ring and lost it forever -- and that was okay. It's the band that means the most to me.
Lovely necklace, I love the Ankh symbol.
Hi! I love that pendant :)
I have a silver necklace with a ladybug pendant on it. My sister bought it for me when I went to college - for good luck. It has brought me good luck, so I never take it off
Nope. I take everything off when I'm home- even the anniversary ring. I wore out the wedding ring by wearing it all the time. Handling pipes, bales, pulling on heavy machinery thins the bands and misshapens rings.
I take off my jewelry at night. I don't like to bathe or sleep with my earrings, necklaces and rings.
I used to wear my engagement ring as the only jewelry I never took off but after we broke up over 6 years ago I wear next to no jewelry. On the other hand I have a heart shaped opal my daughter gave me that I carry around in my wallet.
Wow what a gorgeous necklace and thanks for the history behind it.
When I'm at home I take off my rings and bracelets. The only thing I don't take off is my medical necklace.
Thanks for a another chance to win the gorgeous necklace.
Beautiful pendant!
I love jewelry and although I have special pieces I do take them off occasionally when I have to cook, shower, sleep, etc. I don't like to get my jewelry dirty, wet or lost.
But as for special jewelry I own. I have a pendant my mother gave me with a silver heart compass on it. And I have a bracelet watch my grandmother gave me before she passed away.

My silver spinning ring I got in France.
It would have to be my wedding band.
That's a beautiful necklace!!
Good luck, everyone!
I take my watch and rings off as soon as I walk through the door after work, but I wear my mother's double diamond engagement ring every day. It was briefly stolen, and a miracle brought it back to me.
I bought a copy of Stolen Heat today---am saving it for my vacation in August...if I can.
My belly ring
I wear earrings all the time, but I have no problem taking them off when needed. Eg. I had to when I had x-rays taken at the dentist's. But otherwise I keep them on because I don't want my piercings dissappear (this has happened twice before).
Aw, Pat. I love that reason!!!
Trish, not weird at all. That makes total sense to me.
I'm planning on Nashville next year. I've never been, so I'm looking forward to it!
Maggie, that's definitely a miracle you got your mother's ring back.
I hope you enjoy STOLEN HEAT! It's a good vacation read. ;)
I wear my wedding ring always, and my diamond stud earings.
I actually don't wear jewelery that often. But if I had to pick it was a necklace that my grandmother gave me when I was a teenager.

No, there is not any jewelry that I do take off because I do not wear any. I buy a lot for my grandaughters.

I usually keep my cross on all the time
Paula, that is exactly why I never remove my belly ring except for x-rays!
Wedding band.
Beautiful necklace. I never take off my wedding rings.
For the longest time I kept my silver cross necklace on, but just recently I took it off. I loved that thing.
I take all jewelry off at night because it all annoys me when I sleep.
Mine would be my top hole earings.
I always wear my pearl stud earrings. They were a graduation gift from college many, many, many years ago.
