Today I'm thrilled to welcome a super fab author and good friend...Shelli Stevens! For those of you who don't know Shelli...shhhh...she's the author your mother warned you about...

Shelli read her first romance novel when she snuck it off her mother’s bookshelf when she was eleven. One taste and she was forever hooked on romances. It wasn’t until many years later that she decided to pursue writing stories of her own. By then she acknowledged the voices in her head didn’t make her crazy, they made her a writer.

Shelli currently lives in the Pacific Northwest with her young daughter, where she is President of her local RWA (Romance Writers of America) chapter. She currently writes for Kensington Publishing, Samhain Publishing, and Cobblestone Press. When not writing, Shelli enjoys music, reading, being outdoors, exercising, and spending time with her family and friends. Visit the author's website at www.shellistevens.com.

Shelli's latest release is TAKE ME...

After years as a slave to the pleasures of the powerful, Talia knows how to make a man mad with lust. But her pleasure counts for nothing—until a handsome, ruthless stranger appears. Ryder dares to look at her… to touch her… to awake in her a desire she’s never imagined. When he kidnaps her to learn her secrets, Talia vows not to let her passion take control. But soon she discovers that her captor’s intense gaze and searching hands can perform their own kind of interrogation, a sweet torture she finds impossible to resist…

“Stevens is a provocative new voice in erotic romance. Take Me will leave you breathless.” – USA Best Selling author Jaid Black

““I always enjoy a little sci-fi intrigue mixed in with some very hot romance, and Take Me is a wonderful combination… a little something to spice up your life, and put a smile on your face.” Lototy, Coffee Time Romance

“…the sex scenes between the lead characters are plentiful and surprisingly well
done.”
Romantic Times

“Fascinating!” Harriet Klausner, 4 stars

1) What kind of books do you love to read and how do those stories impact your own writing?I love all genres. I especially love medieval romance novels and most historicals (except I confess to not being a big regency fan). I also enjoy futuristic and romantic suspense, heavier on the romance.

2) What are you working on presently? What about upcoming releases?
I’m currently working on several proposals that have just gone out! They range from futuristic to paranormal (all hot!). As for what’s coming out soon, well Take Me just released from Kensington Aphrodisia, and at the end of the month I’m in the Sexy Beast VII anthology with Kate Douglas and Anitra Lynn Mcleod. I also have the second book Luck be Delanie coming out from Samhain in my Chances Are series. Busy release schedule!

3) What’s the best compliment you ever got on your writing or book(s)? You write like a girl. Ha, no just kidding. But that would be great. I love getting compliments from other authors (that’s a huge one!), and I love it when someone emails me to say they read my book straight through. Couldn’t put it down. Or burned dinner or something. Seriously, anytime I get a compliment I’m all giddy and excited. It means someone enjoyed my writing and you just can’t beat that.

4) What’s your writing schedule like?
I tend to write mostly when the kid is asleep, because she’s not old enough to be in school all day, so she’s hanging around with me.

5) If you could be one character from any book you’ve read or written who would it be and why?
Oh gosh, who’d I be. Hmmmm. I think I’d be Maddie from Gemma Halliday’s book Spying in High Heels. She’s a riot and has the yummiest cop love interest.

Today Shelli's giving away a copy of TAKE ME to one lucky commenter. To be entered into the drawing, simply answer this question (taken from one of Shelli's reviews)...

When was the last time you were "breathless"?

Yeah, I have to agree with others on this. The only time I've been breathless I ended up in the ER. So not exactly a happy memory.

Congrats on the new release!

In life...that would be today. Finding stickers and crayon all over the wall that my 3-year old daughter has so proudly displayed and said that she and her friends (imaginary mind you) wanted to do it. I was laughing, because otherwise I would cry...but breathless all the same.

With a book...had to be Sweet Persuaison by Maya Banks. I have a feeling that I have to get your book, and I will be breathless again! Sounds wonderful!!

Thanks~

Hi Shelli,
Congrats on the new release. The last time I was breathless I was running to the gate to make sure I didn't miss my flight.

Does last night count? I played competitive badminton for 4 hours straight. Most people think it is a wishy-washy sort-of backyard game, but it actually involves lots of running and strength to clear the birdie, etc., all staying within the lines. Not easy when you're overweight, but definitely enjoyable with friends!

I would say that the last time I was breathless wasn't a good moment. It was back in December when I fell on the ice and broke my foot.

Congrats on the new release. It looks really good!

The last time I was "breathless" was when our baby accidently
amputated her thumb in a freak accident.

Thankfully they were able to re-attach it. But, those days of waiting to see if she would keep or lose the thumb left us all breathless.

Hi Shelli. I do believe walking down the isle for my wedding was the last time I was breathless. I was so scared and excited and happy all at the same time.

Breathless? When 1st clogged toilet and did not tell me in time. The half of the top floor was flooded and the downstairs had a puddle. We had 6 huge industrial fans blowing for 2 weeks. That wasn't the end of it, we had clean-up and replacements to consider. It cost us a pretty penny.

I would love to win Take Me! That would definitely leave me breathless.

But the last time I was breathless was while reading the end of Deeper by Megan Hart. I was sobbing so hard I was almost hyperventilating. It was hard to catch my breath. That was a heartwrenching, emotional, yet beautiful love story.

Congrats on the new release!

Hi Shelli!

Congratulations on your newest release.

Last time I was breathless was 2 weeks ago when I couldn't get out my address to the 911 operator after figuring out that my 3 yo son is allergic to peanuts. Never want to experience that kind of "breathless" again.

The last time? When trying to catch the kids at the park--boy, they are fast! ;p Or maybe I've slowed down over the years...

Congrats on Take Me, Shelli!

Hi Shelli and Elisabeth, I'm lucky to be with a guy who is very creative and crafts-y, and each year on our wedding anniversary he makes me a unique paper flower that somehow ties into the annual traditional gift theme eg. cotton, bronze etc. It definitely leaves me breathless each time. Thanks!
