One More Week
Only one more week until the RWA RITA & Golden Heart nominations are announced. Am I the only one eagerly anticipating this announcement? I wasn't eligible for either this year because 1) I sold, and 2) though my book released Dec. 30th, 2008, it has a 2009 copyright. So...I won't be able to enter STOLEN FURY in the RITAs until next year (and as it is, that 2009 copyright has bumped me out of most published author contests so far this year as well). BUT...the good news is that I have several friends who entered the Golden Heart (and stand an amazing chance at finaling) and others who were eligible for the RITAs this year. And I'm pretty sure I'm way more excited for all of them than I ever was when I entered the GH myself.
Nominations are announced Wednesday, March 25th. This was my first year judging the RITAs so I'm curious if any of the books I read will final. There were some really good ones in my box. I'm also crossing fingers and toes for all my writer friends as they wait for "the call".How about you? Are you eager to hear the nominations? Did you enter either the GH or RITA? Are you crazy? This contest has soooo many entries, I believe it'll take talent and a whole lot of luck to final. I don't hold my breath for this one. lol. That's me, the eternal pessimist.
(BTW, I have one in SRE and RS. RS one is better.)
I entered in Series RS (at least I think that's the title of the category!), but like Kendra, I don't see myself finaling. Still, it'll be exciting. I've judged the last few years too, and I like to see if any of the entries make it to the finals. So far, no such luck.
Have faith, Kendra. :) I'll hold my breath for you.

I'm not in any of the contests. Like you I'm published but my book doesn't count as a mass market so I can't enter the RITA.
But I'm pulling for all the people I know.
I'm eager to hear the announcements, because this was the first year I judged RITA, too. I did enter, but it was an erotic novella of Penny's so I'm not holding my breath.
I'm holding a blog party Wednesday to honour the finalists. It's such a thrill to be a Golden Heart finalist, I wanted to share in it.
