One Week

Thank you, Lin, for reminding me that Nationals is only a week away. Eeek! While I have been dealing with teeth pulling and swim meets and the terrible twos, I have pushed aside all that other stuff I have to do before I leave next Tuesday for Dallas. Such as...

1) Get my hair done (OMG, it really needs it),
2) Clean the house so it's not a total bomb when I get home,
3) Finalize kids' schedule for Grandma who will be babysitting during the day while the DH is at work,
4) Print out my schedule for the week so I don't miss anything important like oh, say, my meeting with my agent or the GH stuff I'm supposed to attend,
5) Laundry. Everything I own is dirty,
6) Get a pedicure. The toes need it soooo bad. I wouldn't subject others to looking at these things the way they stand now,
7) Figure out how the heck I'm getting to and from the airport,
8) Finish the wip (this is wishful thinking),
9) Pack.

What's on your schedule the next week - whether you're prepping for Nationals or not?

1)I blogged today for our chapter blog.
2)I have another read through to do on my galley. (I wish they didn't keep sending it back to me)
3)I'm polishing OIP to send to the editor
4)Myself and my CP are giving an online class for those people in our Hearts Through History online chapter who can't go to Nationals.
5)crossing my fingers and toes that you'll win the GH!!!!

Thanks, Paty!! The GH is such a hard awards ceremony to attend because, unlike the RITAs, you don't have a clue what the other finalists wrote. Hard to compare yourself to everyone else. I'm not counting on winning. I'm just hoping to have a good time and network, network, network. :)

I cleaned my house yesterday. It felt like a Saturday so I figured, why not?

My feet are horrendous and so are my fingernails. Oh, did I forget to mention I still need a dress. EEK!

But at least I don't have to worry about cleaning.

I hope you have a blast at Nationals next week and I, too, am going to twist myself into a good luck knot so you'll win!!!

Things I need to do next week...

Go pick raspberries and blueberries
Get my hair trimmed
Start walking every morning again with DH
Weed the garden
The list seems endless. ;)

I hope you get everything on your list all wrapped up so you can relax. I wish I could be there to witness your triumph. Oh well, there's always SF next year. You girls are going to have soooo much fun!

Wow -- I can't believe it's only one week!

How exciting!

My next week is filled with a fusing class at Cal Poly. I'm excited about it. No work, lots of play.

Have fun at the conference. Can't wait to hear about it.

Good luck with the GH! Have fun at the conference.

My schedule next week:

1) Write 6 pages of Demon Son every day (Seventy Days of Sweat challenge)

2) Put together the news column for an author promo group I belong to

3) Put up new shelves in my pantry closet

4) Buy new ballet shoes for the mini-diva before her classes start up again on Wednesday

5) Two novella (short) proposals

6) Halloween story

7) Take the kids to see Harry Potter

Joan, have a ball with your class. That sounds great.

Thanks for the good luck. Still wish you were going, too.

Elisa, you have a busy week planned! Good luck on the writing. Are you back in the groove now that the kidlets are home?

Piper, I wish you were going too. We had such a blast in Reno. Next year in SF, for sure!

My list is whittling down. Got the hair done yesterday, the house is clean, laundry's just about finished. I'll pack tomorrow and Monday, and I'm taking the dd with me Monday afternoon for the pedicure. Then I'm off on Tuesday. No way the wip will be finished by then, but hopefully I can do some editing on the plane.

And if internet connection isn't horrendously expensive, I'll drop you an email. ;)

Mel, you're way ahead of the game!

I just finished cleaning the house and now I'm pooped. The 2 yr old is bugging me to make cookies when all I want to do is sit. Gah.

I already have my GH dress, but today while I was out I found an adorable cocktail dress and decided to buy it for the Golden Network reception. It's red with white dots (I'll look like minnie mouse, but who cares. It's not black!!!).

Oh Eli! I can't wait to see your red dress with white polka dots! I LOVE POLKA DOTS!I'm glad you found another great dress to wear while you're at Nationals. It will make you feel so good!

You and dd have fun at your pedicure appt. Be safe and have a great time! We'll talk when you get back unless you get some awesome internet access and have time to drop a load of information and gossip my way. LOL

See you when you get home! :)
