Tagged ala Teri

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot Chocolate. Esp. with peppermint schnapps. Mmmm....
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Wrapped. Always.
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? White only
4. Do you hang mistletoe? No.
5. When do you put your decorations up? Mmm...when I'm tired of the kids nagging me. Did them today - all except for the tree.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Tea time tassies - they're like mini pecan pies. Oh, and fudge. Yeah, gotta have fudge.
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child: Driving into the mountains every year to cut our tree, going sledding in the snow and drinking - what else? - hot chocolate when we were frozen.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? No idea how old. And I don't even remember the moment I knew. I just did.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Yes. With my family. We always do Christmas Eve together. Our kids have to wait for Christmas morning to open our presents at home.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? Lots of homemade ornaments, collectibles I've gotten over the year.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Love it. Wish we had it more. Hate when it disappears (as it did this morning by 10am)
12. Can you ice skate? Yes, but haven't been in a looooong time. When I was a kid there was a gravel pit not far from my house. Used to fill with water and freeze over every winter. I'd take my mom's old skates and go skate. Alone! Can you believe that? Man, no way I'd ever let my kids do that.
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? Yes. Three years ago my DH got me an upgrade on my diamond. Best gift ever.
14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Family, and reminding my kids of the true meaning of Christmas.
15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Gotta go with Teri on this one...Pecan pie. Definitely.
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Having the kids add to the Advent calendar I made years ago.
17. What tops your tree? Big red bows.
18. Which do you prefer - giving or Receiving? Definitely giving. I have a lot of fun watching others open gifts.
19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? A Baby Just Like You by John Denver
20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum? Yum. With hot chocolate, of course. ;)

Okay, so passing the joy this holiday season...I tag Lisa, Piper, Edie and Paty

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Egg Nog with a little milk to calm it down a bit.
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just set them under the tree? Santa who? I have to wrap all that crap!
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Depends on who's year it is to pick. Colored for the kids year, white for mom's. ;)
4. Do you hang mistletoe? If I remember to buy it, or can snag it out of an oak tree. My mother-in-law has a "mistletoad" she hangs up in the kitchen doorway. He's so cute!
5. When do you put your decorations up? Geez, that depends. Is the house clean and dusted? Okay, let's put it all up.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Apple and banana salad with whipping cream and lots of pies.
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child: When I was about 12 we finally started celebrating Christmas like the normal people in the U.S., so that has to be my favorite holiday memory, actually getting to have Christmas and a tree and presents! Woo Hoo!
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I never had a choice. We didn't celebrate Christmas so I had no idea who he was. (pathetic eh?)
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Yes. With my DH's family. They do Christmas Eve and we do Christmas morning at our house with the kidlets.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? With ornaments I bought when I first had a real job and then with all the stuff we've collected over the years. A real mish-mash of stuff. And of course the kids hand-made stuff too.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Absolutely LOVE IT! Everything about it! It's like a miracle. Every little flake.
12. Can you ice skate? No. *big sigh* But I can roller-skate with the best of 'em, especially backward!
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? My dad got me a Mickey Mouse watch for the first time we ever celebrated Christmas. And he always got me jewelry every year after that. I still have all of it.
14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Being with my husband and kids and celebrating the fact that we have a true Savior in Jesus Christ, that He loves us and keeps us regardless of our foolish selves.
15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Besides pies, I love Tillamook Pumpkin Ice Cream! YUMMM!
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Opening presents in our pj's, watching the movies "Elf" and "A Christmas Story" every year as a family and laughing together.
17. What tops your tree? A pathetic red bow. I need a new topper. My angel got old so I threw it away. I've been using a red bow the last few years, but I'd like something new. :)
18. Which do you prefer - giving or Receiving? For me, giving. It's so much easier to give than to receive. I love to give gifts, as long as no one gets all gooshey about it. :) Getting gifts is hard, but I do love it, deep inside. (ack, too much pride!)
19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? Oh Holy Night
20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum? Yum Yum! I love the great big fat ones that are straight and have holes in the center, and the peppermint pillows are so yummy too! I love soft chewy candy canes that are old and stick in your teeth. Weird, but true.

That was fun. :) Merry Christmas!
