WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!

Beavers Win! Beavers Win! Beavers Win!

From www.osubeavers.com:

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Bill Rowe scored the go-ahead run on second baseman Bryan Steed's throwing error in the bottom of the eighth inning, and Oregon State held on to beat North Carolina 3-2 for its first College World Series title Monday night.

The Beavers (50-16) became the first team in CWS history to lose twice in Omaha and win the national title. Oregon State also is the first truly Northern-based school to win the series since Ohio State in 1966.

Way to go BEAVS!!!!!!!

wow, I am stunned, good for the Beavs! Of course would be better if the Ducks won, but I will take what I can get

Woohoo! I watched a bit of it last night and thought of you. I crossed my fingers, my legs and occasionally my eyes. Enjoy the rush!

My Son, a total ducks fan was beside himself. But like Sparky, he's take what he can get:)

Yeah sparky! Go Ducks! Well done Beavs. I will root for them because the Ducks have no baseball team. However, when one of the Beavs said they won this for the whole NW, including the Huskies and Ducks - I scoffed. Loud and hard scoffing. Alas, well done Beavs. Congrats Eli :-) I'm glad you and your DH are happy.

Lisa, that was Darwin Barney. At one of the regular season games, my 7-yr old got the whole crowd cheering the Beaver chant when the team was down. Even the players got into it, cheering, standing on the steps of the dugout. They ended up coming back to win, partly because of the shift in momentum when the crowd got into it. After the game, Cole Gillespie (left-fielder) brought my daughter down to the field to meet the players, and Darwin Barney (short stop) got all the guys to sign a ball for her. It was a really cool experience for her. Those guys are a great group, and I couldn't be more thrilled for them.
